Title: Help to I.D this hallmark
Post by: wondering on September 27, 2015, 07:36:30 PM
So a friend comes to my house today to show me a nice looking ring he found and asks me to see if I know anything about the hallmark, I know nothing about gold, I own 0 and found 0 so seeing a hallmark is new to me lol  ;D.

I told him I would look into it and ask around but my camera isn't that good to take a pic  >:( so I drew it.... ha  ;)

Please and someone help me I.D this as he is looking to see if its a treasure item.

Thank you

Fairly safe to say if it's got Hall Marks it's not old enough to be classed as treasure.  750 is 18k  AV would be the maker but there are hundreds listed.  Easier is you can distinguish the City mark, the one with the ? above it.  The X at the end is the year it was made but even they vary.

Nothing like a half good pic.

Yeah like that but the crown looks different, might just be worn. Same with the second part from the end looks like a shield but again might be worn but the x is definitely a fancy type x with the curly flicks haha 😂
