Title: Teknetics T2 SE settings
Post by: roughneck on May 14, 2015, 10:22:08 PM
Hi Guys
I've just acquired a T2 SE and would like to know if anyone has settings for pasture/plough etc. that they rely on and have had success with.    I've read handbook and studied forums but everyone seems to have different settings and opinions.  My machine currently has the standard coil fitted.  Is it worth looking for a bigger coil?  I'll be trying it out for the first time this weekend so any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any info.  Cheers. Tom

I always tried to run mine around 70-75 sens, 10 on disc and always 2 tone +, generally you won't get any good targets under 45 so dig everything above that that gives you a two way signal, iffy signals are worth swinging at 90 degrees just to see if they get better or worse.
The T2 is a sparky machine  and needs to be run "hot" to get the good stuff so I would say use the standard until you get used to the machine then look at getting an Ultimate coil ;)

Thanks Geoff.  I'll certainly give that setting a try and keep my eyes open for an Ultimate coil.  Cheers.  Tom.

If you can put up with the chatter go to 90 sens, 2+ asap so your brain learns to pick out the deep hammered coins. I only use the SEs boost on clean quiet pasture and swing well above the grass and slow. In boost I'll go 85sens. I've had mine a few years and I'll never go less than 80sense on any ground around where I live.

On hard arable try putting it in boost, then switch to All Metals - good for tiny stuff like cut halves etc

Thanks Rob.  I can see from your post that you find a few hammered with your T2.  It's probably going to take a while to get used to my new machine.  I shall certainly try your suggested settings if the ground allows, thank you.  What's the T2 like for finding silver please and what ID does it give?   Cheers.  Tom

80  10   2+    most of the time on any ground conditions. Silver coins hamies etc give solid sinals in the 70s  usually. But can also give bouncing signals if coins have been there a while or are at depth or on edge .victorian green pennies etc t2 hoovers these up signal could never be missed......do you know how to decrease the pin point area? If you do.lower it down to 10.   Helps with an idear of size of target.  When pin pointing v loud squeels is usually foil/tin ring pulls.but can also be a good coin near surface..its all quite confusing but youl get the hang of it quickly the more you use it.  Once youve got used to it dig all good signals over 50.

Does anyone know what range gold shows up as on the t2se. ?

Dig everything over 50.
