Hi All, I went out today for a few hours today and only managed to find a button and some pottery before coming across this lovely ring, was quite shocked when I saw it, very happy to say the least, it was quite dark when I found it, and was quite hard to get as it was under a root. Would anybody know how old it might be? I'm hoping it does have some age to it. It must have been lovely in it's time as it would have been completely gilded in gold. There is also four letters stamped on the inside, "WMVS". Would that be a makers mark or owners initials or even a couples initials? Before anybody mentions it, the one picture doesn't show much gilding on it, that's because it has dried out, if you damp it again it does come back to life so to speak. Any help in identifying it will be appreciated. Thanks, Jon

Well done Jon. looking at the lozenge with the makers mark I would say it late Victorian at the earliest and probably 20thC. Wink
