Hi all,

Call me what you want as I was so wrong about the ultimate coil! a friend of mine jo ross a dw member also uses the same machine as me the Tejon. He has always used the 9 x 8" standard coil, iv nagged and nagged him for months to get the 10 x 12" wide scan that I use, but he was happy with what he was using, anyway he had a offer on a ultimate coil that he could not refuse and went for it brand new, I told him about my previous experiences but Joe being Joe Grin he went for it.
Anyway around mine he came tonight with his massive white coil!
So over my test bed he went with a big smile on his face Grin
he got to the end of the test and passed me the machine and said have a go, I thought in my head I know what this coil can do, so I went to the first target a Vicky penny at 9" it picked it up very easy so a inch above the ground I went then 2 3 4 5 and I still picked it up I laughed as I thought he passed it to me in all metal mode but no the discrim  was set to iron Shocked I almost fell over it smashed the test bed and my 10 x 12"
I did a good hour comparing the two coils and all I can say is the ultimate won hands down even over a tiny hammered farthing I had to check it was the farthing I put down not a £1 coin lol it really was that good, what have I walked over Roll Eyes

I will never buy a second hand coil ever again you just don't know how they have been treated and mine was obviously damaged, I could only test and comment on the one I was using.

People pay 100's of £'s to gain as little as a inch on a top of the range machine and this coil has really gained inches and clear response inches.

Mike, Chef Geoff sorry you were right its the dogs B*****S!!!

No Problem Dale, it does do some weird things to a machine, as I said in my original field test "the difference in tones and performance is something I wouldn't have believed possible simply by changing a coil" It does "alter" the machine. Wink

Very true words Geoff , changing the coil is  probably the biggest upgrade you can do to a machine,it's definitely worked wonders in this case

Geoff,  I really was amazed at the coil, it was a shock, as I really did think my set up was good in till Joe came around with a working ultimate.

You hear how deep people find hammereds.... how big the fish was what got away
but this coil is deep!
