any chance of casting your expert eye over this one please. the consensus of opinion up here is that its scottish [due to the stars, not pellets].

I scoured Spink England and couldn't see the stars in the voided short-cross anywhere. I can see stars now though, so I reckon you've got to be right with the scottish angle.
