Title: Silver faces
Post by: Dylan on August 28, 2015, 06:07:59 PM
A friend of mine found this strange artefact and has struggled to identify it and I haven’t seen anything like it either.  It looks like it’s made of silver.  There is what looks like a suspension loop and there were probably four ‘arms’ originally which swivel around the centre piece which looks a bit like a rose.  Two of the arms have been snapped off but on the two remaining arms are little heads. Any ideas about and date and what it is?

That's a nice find.  Maybe one side of a cloak fastener ?

thanks, yep that would make sense.  I've never seen anything like it before so I've learned something today - that's the beauty of this hobby, there's always odd things that come out of the ground that you can't identify; most are nothing interesting but then you find something like this!
