Hi all,

Alan passed away this morning.  When I read him all the messages from everyone who posted one, he told me how great it was to hear them as usually they're only read out once someone has already gone.  They meant so much to him.  He was taken way far too soon but at least he's no longer in pain.

Shared many a lift with Alan to rallies gone bye. He was a passionate detectorist, did a lot with schools and the museum. He used to talk fondly of his daughter and granddaughter hope they are ok in these sad times.

Thats awfully bad news Shianne - please pass on my deepest sympathies to Alans Family and Friends. A real nice guy and a loss to DW and the detecting community.

Take care

I never had the pleasure of meeting Alan, it's so sad to lose a fellow
detectorist. Please give my condolences to his family.

If anyone would like to attend Alan's funeral, it is being held at Thornhill crematorium on Thursday 11th April at 11am.   Sad
