here is a picture of the bristol farthing found at rally sunday 1662. Reverse; THE ARMES OF BRISTOLL around ship i will up load the picture of hammered when i get it back from a mate who is identifying it for me.

Ian, I love that coin are you open to offers i collect anything metal detected to do with Bristol. Byron i would not want to even contemplate getting that straightened, but both good finds. Well Done.

Well done Byron - judging by the stars thats a Scottish hammered coin. I will hazard a guess at Alexander II as it looks very similar to one I found by the same ruler.

Cracking find - nice to see its travelled to Wales as well.

Alton Barnes , and organised my Mick Tyrell,  realised my finds were on the wrong thread. Any ideas on the roman coin anyone? its about the same size as a 50p looks like its been flattened top and bottom, and pierced to make it into a necklace

i am posting this pic to compare the different colour of the finds from sat+sunday....the top section came out of the red soil at caerleon and the bottom section out of the black, sticky soil in wiltshire....the english finds seem to be more preserved !

As you know all i came away from Wiltshire with was a banging head and a walk like Douglas barder lol i was Knackered !
