the sec. of R.A.R.E. received the following message off F.I.D......scam rallies are being arranged,mainly north of birmingham.....a person calling himself "PINCHER" is organising rallies without the landowners consent,with no proper facilities...just pocketing the money..F.I.D. have had many complaints...so please dont fall for this scam......byron

Thanks for the heads up Byron... Great thats all we need is some Scumbag like that dragging our reputations down to his level . I think we need to take a stance on this, to ensure people know where Detecting Wales stands on this.

 blimey haven't we got enough to put up with as it is,.
  OI heard of one down south of england i think it was last year,  it was in aid of either sea rescue or air rescue,   trouble is,  the chairty never saw the money,

This is becoming a growing trend me thinks !
 
There was something like that mentioned the other club night a joint rally involving a charity and they never got the money.

The press would have a field day with this ...Detectorists ripping each other off.
 makes us sound like a load of Pirate,s lol

there's a thread on minelab owners website under Malton Rally there are a lot of angry people that was caught on there.

i for one had never heard of jim pincher until today......i'm sure there are many more detectorists like me..especially those who paid up front to go on his latest rally....but now i know, i would'nt touch anything he organises with a ten foot barge pole !! lets hope he gets charged with deception or something and is stopped from doing anything similar in the future !....byron

I would stick to official sites in the future. Geoff and Neil are doing a good job and if iI have missed anyone out then my apologies. The only snag is that there are no North Wales sites included to give our lads a chance  Roll Eyes

like byron i have never heard of this scumbag until today so hopefully the word will be spread by decent detectorists and this guy will be put out of business, and hopefully charged with fraud.
