Should I change my name to W259GHL or should I buy private plates?

I think the cheaper option would be to change my name!

Not sure, has anyone bought private plates?

I think private number plates are dead classy except when people have to change the numbers to fit there names ie changing the position of the fixing screw to the middle of two I,s to make an H
"I think you tackly little cheap slate" lol  Tongue

This is true.  In the late 60's I owned a white mini van and its registration was JOE 90, In those days number plates only had a novelty value and are not cherished like today.I often wonder who owns it now, what vehicle its on and most of all what's it worth. I think I sold the van (and plates) for £150.  Embarrassed

Hi Dickle

I bet Gerry Anderson had his wooden Poppet like hands on that number at one time or another a fan would pay a forture for that number i bet.

Your right about Numbers just being a novelty value,
I had an ex Army Canam Motorbike years ago and after it was registered to public use its reg was POP 5I4T  But if you Changed the I to a T and changed the T to a R It would have looked a bit like........................... POP STAR lol

I'm not really into private plates, see my post above (sob), but two of the nicest i've seen are APO110 and A747 JET.
The latter no doubt belongs to a pilot.  Smiley
