Interesting crop marks shame the site is scheduled, but they don’t come much clearer than these. If only all site were this easy to spot, but then again they would all be scheduled.  Tongue

I have already asked, the farmer said it was more that his life was worth, it's all church land. I did a farm nearby 2 years ago, parked in the field off the main road. Farmer ploughing next door. I walked down the field with my mate, turned around to see a head bob up behind my vehicle, I raced up the field, to find my window smashed, sat nav gone, camo jacket gone, £360 out of pocket.

If I had caught him, I would have removed his legs with my spade Angry

The trouble with crop marks they at there best with the deep ditches of stone age man and also many other periods ...but trying to pick out the metal periods is difficult amongst a Neolithic landscape ,as they are the prolific in earthworks. Wink

The best way is to look for dark patches of soil on Google earth. Not necessarly in the middle of the field as this is probably cow muck which has been recently dumped. Look for a black or dark area of soil that extends through a hedge line into another field, then you know it pre dates the hedge and the enclosure act.
