Title: Wet wet and wet again Post by: roughneck on July 23, 2017, 04:59:51 PM Me and Ron braved some heavy showers yesterday to unearth a few finds. We had a proper soaking before deciding enough was enough and it was time to 'head for the hills'.
We did however enjoy our few hours out in the fields and had a few finds to show for it. Best finds were a sestertius of Antoninus Pius (we think), a bullhead shilling, a James 1st half groat (we think) and a small gold wedding band hallmarked 1778/9 by William Eley 1st of London (with Birmingham hallmark), and a quite nice buckle. The rest of our finds consisted mainly of bullets, lead, buttons and the usual scrap. So all-in-all it was a nice day even though the weather did it's best to prevent us enjoying it, so Happy Digging everyone, come rain or shine!!! Cheers. Tom.
