As for getting them back, I was recently returned a small group of Charles 1st shillings (which was presumed to be the remnants of a much bigger civil war hoard) by the numismatist here in Cardiff - and he's a civil war specialist - so I'm remaining optimistic  

Yes, Edward Besley - it was Cardiff that kept the two groats - and (unless they feel they are over-valued) are going to keep my hoard as well - although of course that's fine if that's what they want to do.
