Well it's got on board GPS, it's wireless, colour and is very pretty but as I've said about other makes they are all bells and whistles which they will charge you an arm and a leg for, though there is a rumour that there may be two versions. One lacking the GPS and wireless. It is using something called FBS2, and for me that's the important part. OH and it's waterproof.
We shall wait and see.

Well it still looks on the heavy side. will be intersested to know what is FBS2.looks like they have listened about having a GPS built in rather than a clock like XP. Wonder how much ?. thought they would have stream lined it more looks rather ugly.
Cant wait to see what they can do after all minelab in my opinion are the best all round machines

I think the machine look good  all over but the design can be improve especially on the back of the detector , the gps feature is brilliant , so far i have been using my old explorer xs and to be honest i love the detector  yes its heavy but i take my time when i go detecting , i have tried Wayno Deus and again a brilliant machine for a long day detecting and Wireless is a very good idea on the detector . Minelab give us a new suprise at what price ? i always said spending over £1000 on a machine and perform at the same level than a second hand  detector for £350  Undecided its up to you but personnally they should look at that too . Bravo Minelab .

well my initial impression is  that it looks like it was designed by 4x people in different parts of the building  and then assembled by a fifth in the dark .!
There is very little visual harmony or unity in shape or colour, to my mind. I have to say it looks like it might be on the heavy side too.

The black block at the rear is presumably the battery ?  it looks like battery that has been taken off a drill and tacked on the back  lol .
The distance between the arm cuff and the control grip looks very short to me. it would put the armcuff half way up my forearm so I hope there is some scope for adjustment for those with long arms .

CTX3030 Angry  why on earth can't manufacturers choose an adjective rather than some obscure nomenclature discription . something nice a catchy and memorable.

we should have a poll to decide a good name for the new detector.  Grin
my choice would be ULTIMATE Wink

Well you can just imagine saying to somebody.  I've got the new Minelab, you know the EXPENSIVE on.

Whatever it does I wont be having one, at least not for ten years or so. By then p'raps they'll have brought one out that works from a Z frame. Shocked
