The simple answer to this mate is a Minelab Explorer II - quality on both the beach and field. You'd pay about £350ish second hand - cost £1100 new a few moons ago.

Welcome to DW by the way.

Cheers

I got a explorer 2 for sale @ £450. very little use in top grade condition.
Reason for sale is that it was my mates brothers who unfortunately is no longer with us.

Explorer is not that difficult to get to know, its the same with any new unit they take time to get use to.
Horses for courses really. I prefer my whites dfx 300, but after saying that I used a mates Minelab CTX 3030 the other day and thats in a league of its own.   Expensive but it pulled good finds out of a pasture land I have permission for which my DFX missed.
Good luck buddy
