Just picked up a good condition Ace250, mainly to amuse the grandson, yeah, right.....I tried in a park this morning, no digging, and it dings and dongs and, seemingly, pinpoints fine.
We'll see how it goes before I sneak off for a permission hunt, but I suspect the Vale of Glamorgan has been done to death by now!

You've always got the beach as well. The 250 is fine on the dry sand but isn't as good on the wet stuff. I use Jewellery mode with sensitivity two nodges off the top on the dry stuff and one or two more nodges off on the wet.

It's a cracking machine and you'll find plenty.  Smiley

Yep the Ace 250 is a good machine, but as Midas touch says keep OFF the wet sand, and you will find a good variation of finds,I got rid of my 250,should have kept it as a good backup machine, good luck, and may you find all in which you go searching for.👍

Welcome to forum and best of luck at Barry, when the conditions are rite and I mean when, you will pick Bling off the wet sand, but even then the older stuff is as Badger said deeeeep, and I mean as deep as 20 inches which you will need a Minelab when your serious about beaches. I'm not trying to put you of because if you put the time in at the beach with your grandson and with a little luck you will find a bit of bling and some coins and I will guarantee have fun.......just leave some for the rest of us please lol Wink Wink Wink if your close to Barry get down after a nice hot day and people have left.
