Title: D.F.X USERS PAST OR PRESANT.
Post by: Roman (Ray) on April 09, 2010, 12:42:51 PM
HI ALL.
i have a  D.F.X.3OO.recently its been playing me up a little.i thought at first the machine could of been a little damp..
as the machine is giveing me a good signal everytime i sweep it.just like it would if you had the sensitivity to high.ive uped and downed the sensitivity.does.nt seem to make a difference.
but this problem is only in the 2 programs i have set in the machine myself..
its working fine in all pre-set factory modes.
COINS.
COINS + JEWELRY.
JEWELRY + BEACH.
RELIC.
all working great.the machine is very stable on these factory pre-set modes.
i am wondering why all of a sudden is it playing up in the 2 eeprom settings that i have made.
both settings are haveing the same problem.it just seems to be bleeping every few seconds.weather your useing it.or just standing still.if i hold the machine even in the air.im haveing good signals with different reading.the machine is far from being stabble.no matter what i try.on the settings.its not makeing any difference.
if i go back to normal factory pre-set modes.the machine is great again.
has any D.F.X.user experianced this problem in the past with they.re machine.
whats got me confused is why only in my 2 programs is this happening.
should i delete these programs.and make new ones.
if anyone who has had or got a D.F.X. could you please tell me you have or have.nt had this mystery problem.lol.
could it be just the 4 eeprom programs are faulty.it seems rather strainge that its only in my 2 eeprom programs.
and not in factory pre-set programs.
thank you all.
ray.

HI Ray
I haven't used a DFX, but how about setting up a new user programme and seeing if that works OK?
I am sure Mr T Laff will have the correct answer though!
See you on Sunday Ray  ;)

Ray, if they worked fine before, then I would do a factory reset and start again. The Etrac has done it to me in the past, although it was telling me the gain had been turned down it obviously hadn't and I had to do a reset to get control of it.

Hi Ray

I haven't used a DFX but have used the XLT and V3.

It seems strange that it isn't happening in all the programs, only the ones you have put in.

Common sense would say that it is one of the settings you have put in is set too high. The first that springs to mind is
the transmit power or transmit boost.

I know you can tweak the signals to and from the coil and I suspect it may be this.

Second is the Ground Balance or tracking settings.

Re-setting the machine is drastic and unecessary if your factory programs are ok.

Failing this, give Whites technical department a ring and they should be able to help.

Factory setting on the majority of machines are designed for use in America and not for our hammerd or small Roman.
XP may be an exception on their presets as they are european.

Ray,
Post up one of the programmes that is playing up, make sure you read it from the machine not a copy you have written down and we can see if anything jumps out.

The first thing to try though is fire up the relic programmme, re enter all your settings then save this over the original programme, do not use the save option but use the the name option, this will ensure a cleane save.

Sometimes if the programme has been in there a while and you have been tweaking it can get a little out of sync.

Let us know how you do....

Also, select MIXED MODE OFF for now .

You should find the machine much more quiet and if there,s any thing in the ground worth having and your coil passes over it you will find it.

If you need any help on how to sett it up let me know and I will PM you my Tel. No and I will talk you through the set up.

Regards

ORDOVIC
