Well the "difficulty" is really down to the user a bit like learning to drive some pass first time other take more, you've had the Safari and the Etrac is a Safari on steroids, if it has a weakness it probably ploughed fluffy soil.

Hummmm!!well thanks Chef, just a contemplation at present, just can't make up my mind,a sort of "devil you know" scenario, I do very well with the "Sovereign"!! It's a bit weighty, what's the weight of an E-TRAC ?is it any lighter?

Roughly the same as the Safari, with the Sov top mounted on a straight stem it's far better balanced and so feels lighter.

Hell of a difference as the control box at the top counterbalances the coil at the front and you are holding the balance point so the muscles involved in holding it are totally different.
As to price...not cheap for such a simple thing though Andy UK used to make a nice version, I'm not sure if he still makes them or even if he's still detecting but he is/was a member of DW so drop him a PM and see if he could make one Wink

I found the s shaft easier then the straight one, might just be me,  the weight just sits in your hand,I also found having the handle grip straight up, gave me more wrist pain, I have a adapter for the s shaft Chris, i put a handle just before the bend, and also a extension bar, that brings the box back slightly, but just didn't do it for me.
