Good informative site , I enjoyed reading up on the process involved. When you read through the process, you'll note the part where the gunpowder was loaded into was called 'The Pan'    if the shooter forgot to put in the Musket ball thats all you would get is    'A flash in the Pan'   thats where the saying comes from.  Smiley
