Title: Modern Euro currency, a beach nightmare
Post by: Moncó on February 20, 2014, 10:04:20 AM
Hi guys / Girls

Lately the lads have shared some great beach detecting finds, I only wish I could do the same, here is the truth & frustrations of modern currency and PI ( pulse induction )

I do like my Whotes Dual field and it has been very productive but the modern day currency which is coppered steel is a true nightmare for this kind of detecting..
With recent tidal influence low tide is infested with these little horoors  >:( , as is known a Pulse induction is depth depth & more depth, but to what cost ? back breaking hole digging only to find what the multi frequency machines leave behind, yes you will go deeper and hit the hard pack sand but it is also very likely that you dig, dig and dig and then see another beach detectorist with a multifrequency only dig a 10th of what you dig but leave the beach smiling instead of arms like an orangutan   ;D

here are some of my recent `` finds ´´
The frustrating thing is that in Portugal beach detecting ( some genius´s brain wave ) is illegal and `` is in conflict with archeology ´´  ???
If they wish i will be more than happy to donate my finds to a local museum   :D

The beaches near me have this problem, therefore allthough a great machine I will be selling my Whites dual field pulse induction, 6 months old and great nick, I believe it will be more productive some where else, if anybody is interested send a Private message, I am after the Excalibur II or I if it has the 10 ´´ coil and the yellow headphones ( not the blue )..

Just thought i´d have a good old metal detecting moan..

Oh well at least the beaches are a little cleaner..
