I had the privilege to find this Roman bird mount recently, the sum-total of my decent finds for a wet and very muddy day. It even has its original eyes in-situ; interestingly, one is blue stone while the other is opaque and is probably made of glass. Has anybody else seen anything similar or found one before?

I wonder if one of the eyes was lost and they replaced it with whatever stone was at hand ?

Like that mate - just got your text about it.

Not seen a comparison before. Enjoy researching it.
