Hello folks,

SORRY FOLKS MEANT SUNDAY THE 26TH (NOT 25TH)

Me and jayhay69 spent a bit of time at the farm this morning. We now have it all mapped out with the aid of the farmer. He has also granted us permission to dig there next Sunday (26th). Due to the wishes of the farmer to keep the numbers sensible we will limit it to the current members of the club only please. I will be printing out some maps for the site over the next week.
I think we should go for arriving at 9am to allow for a briefing, rules etc. and finish at 6pm, that gives us around 9 hours.

I will pm details, directions etc later on in the week so keep an eye out for pm's/e mails.

Thanks

Hotmill

Thanks to all concerned for organizing the dig. Sorry that we had to go early, but Steve was suffering with sciatica badly. I had a cartwheel penny and a georgian farthing and there were two hammered found before we left. Managed a couple of pints on the way home so not a bad day. See you all next time.

in the end i found 2 roman coins 1 an Antoninus silver Smiley 1 unknown roman,1 charles 1st scottish 20p and another big cut half hammered and a buckle and a spindle whorl thingy and bits Smiley were gonna have a discussion about filling holes and leaving finds in holes and filling them back and leaving rubbish in the fields, this is a NO NO for our first time there anyway it as a great day weather was great and everyone i think had a great time role on the next one Smiley
