Title: found today when i was playing in the mud!

Found this earlier today anyone got any ideas what it is and any idea to a date for it? Its about two inches long and is made of a copper alloy of some description. Any info would be appreciated cheers.

Reminds me of a piece off a horse bridle Benny - the part that attached the leather rein/harnessing to the bit.. No idea on age though mate - not that modern though.

There are Late Saxon/ Norman ones that are similar, but I don't think yours looks as old as these:

good find benny,it looks victorian to me, nice thing to find in the mud though.
