thanks for all your replies, they took a while to read through, anyway took the trident for a test drive today, did not have much luck as in treasure but i found a few things.i set the ground balance in the field and set the threshold to a slight hum.i dropped a six in nail on the ground and set the discriminator so it chattered at the nail,i thought that would be it for getting rid of iron, but it just kept popping up, OK these were large bits, and discrim will not get rid of them, is there another way or will that come with experience.did find lots of molten lead around fields,oh yes and the famous ring pull, have not seen one of those for years,i will be out there again tomorrow.Jon

Hi hunter 2000, Try Gary uk's site , there is information on there for the lazer Trident, not sure about the new trident 11 but I thnk it should be the same, they have just upped the Khzs  on the new model. Your problem with iron, could be your sensitivity is to high and iron is breaking through,or more than likely it will take you a bit of time to distinguish ferrous signals. :)
