Title: 17th century trade token 1650
Post by: relichunting on April 01, 2012, 06:05:36 PM
Found this little beauty today, not bad condition for a trade token

Was a bit confused as usually tokens found in Wiltshire are local ones

This one had Bradford on it  ???

After a little research it is Bradford on Avon Wiltshire

Token / farthing
trade token, issued by William Chandler, Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire, 1650

Hi Mat

No i got up at 6.30 and decided the 100 mile round trip was to risky,as i can not get on Steves site anymore i was not even sure if the dig was still on  ???

Found it on a really dead ploughed and rolled field we have.

Should have two large fields that you can come down and do in a week or two just waiting for them to be rolled
