I live in llangollen and I am forty years old in feb,(tomorrow) and I have asked for a metal detector for my present, I am very interested in history and llangollen is steeped init, however not a lot of detecting as far as I can see has been done around here,
Are there any clubs around here or close,
I have been interested in metal detecting for years but never had the time to do it, however I had a heart attack in April last year and now have changed my life style, and on the old bucket list is a hobby I will enjoy, and yes it's metal detecting as I can walk to keep up what fitness I have and also enjoy it at the same time.
Any way without blagging on any further, I would be very grateful of any help provided.

I did have a detector when I was about 12 and dug up a old door stop in the shape of punch and its still at my mothers house..

There is NorthWalesDirtDiggers. You can find thier postings if you click on FORUM and scroll down till you come to the Club section.
I don't where they are centered but I'm sure one of them will contact you.
In the meantime Happy Birthday for tommorrow. Get out in the garden and practice with your new toy to get used to it and don't be bashful about asking questions. They're a friendly bunch on here and there's usually someone ready to help.
