I will be visiting Cornwall in a few weeks for my annual Cornish Winter Break.

Anyone got any tips for detecting Perran Sands or the Penhale Sands areas?

Cheers

I did Perran sand in August, I only found  a couple of pound coins. Two kids came up
to me with the usual Questions... What are you doing? can I have a go ? etc . I carried on walking.
A few minutes later they came running back up and said that they had purpously buried 50p and could I find it. They took me roughly to the spot  and I was explaining how the machine could find
coins and jewelery, but for the life of me I couldn't find the coin. So embarassed  I got 50p out
of my pocket dug a hole while they were still watching and pretended to find it. I felt a right divvy

Perranporth is a big old beach Neil. I've never done it but I've seen a fella on YouTube doing it and he did alright. Fistral beach just up the road in Newquay is packed all summer long and could be worth a look.
The wind has gone northerly this morning so you could be here at the right time for the sand to start being ripped down. Good luck mate Wink
