Can anyone tell me how i can clean it better ? Gentle cleaning with a soft tooth brush will get most of it off but it may also take away some of the surface detail with it. I would just put on a little light oil and let it settle for a bit. Freezing it in some soapy water can have a good effect sometimes. When you defrost it, the crud comes off with the melt water. All part of the game.
I like the florin, Its obviously not post 1937 as it's George V who died in 1936. I would go with Dodgers advice but bear in mind that soaking can take weeks or months, so pop it in a pot with olive oil and forget about it. Someone said last night at the club meeting to try electrolysis ?? just bought a kit off ebay for £8 so will see when that arrives.
