I somewhat remember posting a similar thread  this time last year.  Once again I've been bitten by horseflies. Just below my knee on the side of my leg, Its gone into a hard lump all the front lower part of my leg is red hot , and it hurts like hell to walk on it. I know from last year that horseflies dont sting - they dont inject poison they cut a small cube of flesh from their "prey"  because they are not the cleanest of insects this results in the area of bite becoming infected.

I have to reply  to you on this Rob as it could be serious. You need to get some antihystemines in you straight away (hayfever tablets) and get to your GP immediatly. Lisa was bitten by one a few yrs back and she had anyphlatyc shock (spelling) basically her vital organs were shutting down, and she now carries an addrenlin syringe with her at all times also she must use DEET to keep the flies away

I had the same thing last year Rob - cracking little site I had after I went to the owners daughters wedding. Started finding a few William III coppers, cartwheels, etc and realised I was being bit to Hell! Keep meaning to go back - one for winter time me thinks.

Vitamin B and anti hystamins and a visit to the Docs is the answer matey.

Good shout Paul - I think I remember you saying about that.

Cheers
