Title: Ctx advice please people
Post by: rainyday on August 20, 2017, 02:27:01 PM
I've worked my way through a few different detectors and am currently using a safari.
I've been having a think about upgrading to a Ctx.
Any advice would be welcome.  Is it a big jump going from a safari to a Ctx, are they hard to master etc etc?
Cheers
D

Never used Safari myself, but CTX is hard to master. It can be used as "turn on and go" detector, but to get to it's full potential you'll need months...

I've got a number of Minelab detectors GPX5000 and Excalibur II, but my favorite is the CTX 3030.  This detector is a little bit technical but there are so many videos on utube showing you how to set it up and on farmland with the 17" coil it's is really sweet! On the beach the 11" coil is more than adequate. You can get this detector to provide different tones for different metals and with the Geo mapping means you can go out on a field log the GPS location of an object before you dig it up and then name it and later once home save to your laptop or PC on Google maps. This level of precise information is great for providing a birds eye view of your search areas. Obviously I'm bias lol!
