I was wondering does anybody have problems with the explorer 2 when it comes to close to other detectors it goes wild as normal but mine does not seem to settle down for a few minutes sqwarking and chirping wildly even tried noise cancel does not have any effect. i have hip mounted the explorer i think by lenthening the the coil cable has made it more sensetive.any ideas. :(

Hi Ian

Hope youve recovered after yesterday i havnt  lol

You get that problem when you go near another detector on the same frequency it happends to me and byron all the time, we got like a mexican stand off thing going on I wont change my frequency lol

Being antisociel i dont go near many people anyway so its not a problem for me lol

Have a look in your manual Page 81 heading options Noise

Hope this helps all the best
Phil

the trouble i am having is after the two detectors move apart my detector still plays up for a while after like as if the system has oveloaded and takes a time to settle again. do you still have the same problem after the detectors move apart?.

thanks gents the trouble is mine carries on chirping & sqwarking like hell for a while after. I think it may be down to increasing the coil cable length which makes it a bit more tempremental back to the drawing board i gues perhaps i have got to suffer these types of problems to win on the weight savings.
Ian.

this problem is not confined to the Explorer, it's the same when 2 minelab sovereigns are in close proximity. I've been told its because the minelabs are multifrequency machines, they "bounce off " each other. it's totally normal.

That never happened to me yet with my Minelab. But then no one in my area can afford to buy a Minelab they all use cheep Bounty Hunters from WalMart! I guess I am lucky. Who knows, someday I may find something with my Safari besides nails and can tabs!. I am finding the Minelab to be a steep learning curve machine!
