Some standard finds for Talacre, but I am puzzled by item X. Could it be a percussion cap or perhaps a detonator?  Undecided

Hi Chris,  Nice little haul, thought you had gone home till the weather pics up,It looks like we are going to get another battering this week. The fields are getting in a mess with all this rain, the beach could be a better option now that a lot of the sand has been taken off by the high sea,s.  Have a good Christmas.

Had to run down to Talacre on Sunday to strip all the bedding out of the caravan, so sneaked in a day detecting with Richie Sixpence. Still have to do a full drain down and  winterise the van but probably be early march before I get an other shot at the beach. You are always welcome to join us when we are on the sands. I'm sure Richie would also welcome your company.

BBC weather man says that Friday is going to be a perfect day for detecting in my local area so, wife willing, I will put in a full day detecting pasture on one of my permissions. I was hoping to put my new Nel Tornado coil on the EuroAce whilst detecting pasture, but the wife wont let me open it till Christmas Day!  Roll Eyes

In 1984, when I was due to drive out to Poland via Communist East Germany, just before Christmas; the wife gave me all my Christmas presents and said that I wasn't to open them till Christmas Day. When I informed her that the East German and Polish border guards would probably want to open the packages, she said that's fine but tell them that they mustn't let you know what is in them!!!!    Roll Eyes  Cry

A very merry Christmas to one and all and may Santa bring you all that you desire.   Grin

Hi Chris
It was a good day  Smiley The 1950 two shilling I found cleaned up well but obviously is not silver. The Penny's Iv'e done nothing with yet but look not too bad I will have to put a pic on when I get chance.
I must admit your company on the beach Chris will be greatly missed  Sad. And yes grego as Chris says you are always welcome on the beach with us  Smiley.
Did you get to your permmision Chris?

hi Richie,

I was planning on going to one of my permissions first thing tomorrow morning but my wife has changed my plans for me and I am now going to finalise the caravan winterisation. Still no id on item X, but my best guess is that it may be a percussion, detonator, initiator. The copper conical shape may be what is called the anvil; but then again, I may be totally wrong!
