My uncle has kindly offered me the chance to use his holiday home in Teignmouth. Never been to that part of the coastline. Anyone any experience of the area? Any tips appreciated. Looks like a lovely sandy beach though

I've never detected it Jon but funny I was thinking about taking a day trip down there or Dawlish after seeing the Video below, it was made at the beginning of March and is on Exmouth beach just up the road.

Hiya Geoff...did a session at Exmouth earlier this year and can be a very

unpredictable area to detect in i did get quite a bit of pre-decimal era stuff

around where the volleyball nets are near the dunes..

you need the lowest of tides to get the best from here...

BUT you do have the advantage of a good amount of sand to detect on even

at high tides..

Gary who made the videos of that beach lives close to that area and is a decent chap

to talk to..be also prepared for lots of rubbish at the bases of the dunes etc...

and the further you go along the beach you will find signals drop off

If you can manage a verrrry low tide then best areas are nearest the town at the

areas you normally cannot reach...good luck and H.H. PaulB. Cool
