Title: Hot off the press Post by: Chef Geoff on April 29, 2010, 01:31:27 PM Early days to give any definite facts and figures, but last week here in Somerset, a hoard of 3rdC Roman Bronzes were found, they have already been transported to the BM. Why so exciting? they weighed in at 150kg that's over 60,000 coins that would make it the largest ever found.

Was it close to us as I hear some detectorists were seen near us on Sunday on the way across from the campsite. But not with us.

It should be announced in the next few days, so keep an eye on the news. I think they are all bronzes, but if it is where I think then it could be related to 2 silver hoards discovered in the early 20thC
