Please spread the word 13th December 2014

Gumtree.........Deus for sale with 11" coil, remote & WS5, the seller shows a picture with all items then makes an excuse for payment direct to his/her account, there is no Deus !

One person has already lost £760, please let all forums know.

I got done a few weeks ago for Deus on gumtree for £660 police are dealing with it for what that is worth

It's happening all the time on Gumtree, about a year ago I contacted two sellers on the same day about different machines that were going cheap and both turned out to be scams.  If you see a deal that seems to good to be true it probably is, I ask them if I can pick it up and pay cash, I have no real intention of doing that but if they are genuine they will supply an address and I feel a bit safer continuing Undecided

Its not only happening on metal detectors, its happening on vehicles a mate of mine lost a large deposit..... Gumtree is best avoided.

My detecting partner fell for this exact scam this week. £750 down the drain, thought he was buying a Deus. Police told him that he won't get his money back.  Angry

Surely if your money has gone into a bank account, then the authorities don't have to look far for these villains. Or have i missed part of the story???
