Has anyone ever found a decent cartwheel? And if so do you have a picture of your find? As most of the ones I've seen come out of the ground have looked like blank discs.

This is the best I've found. Though I'm sure Ian Gadget has found a cracker.

Jonola  :)you,re right abot the poor condition of hte cartweels and other copper coinage copper does,nt survive as well as silver or gold  due mainly to natural acidic ground conditions / fertilizers etc this is sometimes reflected in the prices of some of the scarcer coins in good condition :omole

You are right about the fertilisers and such like Mole. And to be honest the pics you guys have put up are ver good detector finds. I've never seen one close to those conditions. No matter what soil they come out of.

Jon,i got one i found a fortnight ago, reading your post has urged me on to clean it, at the mo it`s undergoing its 2nd zapping in the Home made electrolisis! The water has gone so dark i cant see it through the glass but will post a pic of the result a,s,a,p. 2nite !
I Made the Electrolisis gadget out of a 16v AC adaptor,2 alligater clips,a glass with cold water, salt & a few drops of lemon juice.
Previous results on other coins have been encouraging!
