Title: Re: Roman for ID Post by: probono on April 26, 2014, 08:58:03 PM Well it's a coin of Gallienus from his sole reign (260-268AD) - in fact a billion antoninianus.
There are quite a number of reverse which feature a seated person left, but based on the 'O' above the person's head and the fact the reverse legend must end in AVG (there is a clearish G at the end of the legend), then I am tempted by this type:- Gallienus AE Antoninianus. . GALLIENVS AVG, radiate head right / CONCOR AVG, Concordia seated left, holding patera and cornucopiae; MT (possibly) in ex. RIC V-1 (S), Milan 471 (Märkl: mint of Tarraco); Göbl 1392a. Title: Re: Roman for ID Post by: Rob Two Spades on April 27, 2014, 08:22:42 AM I had narrowed it down to Gallienus as well but that was as far as I got. Many thanks indeed!
