Great rally as usual! and a huge thanks to those that made it possible.
Here's beachboys coins all nice and clean (think he got me to post them to rub it in a bit  Wink )

Great finds  Smiley

Third one I believe is a penny, not a three farthings. The fourth one is Edward IV, York mint with a key to the right of the neck and either a G or a B to the left.

Heather!! I'm not certain but the obverse of your half groat looks very much more like a Henry VIII posthumous issue rather than a Lizzy.

It's Elizabeth, mintmark A, struck 1582-84.

But which of her portraits puts the crown in that position relative to the legend? and why doesn't it say Elizabeth down the right?

Henry halfgroats don't have two pellets behind the bust. It doesn't say Elizabeth because it just says E'  , like this: (picture © UKDFD)

Ahhhh! Now I new old Henry shouldn't have the pellets but one thing I've learned is what should be on coins and what is on coins are two completely different things. But you have explained that lovely with the pic. and what a nice portrait, I haven't got one of those all mine look as if she's been slapped in the face with a shovel. Virgin Queen? not hard to tell why Grin

Definitely a Roman disc brooch or mount. The millefiori decoration is similar to this:

Hi Doc,
Yeah looks similar but with silver included.  Found this one too which has almost identical flower motifs in it.

Thank you DW for organising another great rally.I am always made welcome and enjoy the friendship.
Had a great day but was just about standing at the end (The deep ploughed field took its toll).
