Good day guys.

Can we go back there again some time? Just starting to get warmed up and the day ended. Now I know that the etrac can pick up the goods from a foot up in the air and in a scrap iron covered landscape.

Managed to stump Taff when I found my spoon partifact. We were both scratching our heads over what it could be, and it was in the last field we got to before we had to pack it in for the day.

Typical.

Found a photo of a modern copy of this type of spoon. Shame there wasnt time to firtle around the area. There might be more of it there.

Nice to meet so many new faces, and to see the regulars again. And I got to experience Debbies route finding skills when we up sticks to the second set of fields. Very entertaining Debs.

See you all next time.

Eric

Sorry Barrie and I missed this rally but it sounds as if you all had a good day as usual.

Great report Geoff and thanks for another excellent day out.

I was lucky enough to find a couple of bits of silver late in the day, but it was strange how the hammered just didn't come up this time.

...and Eric, what did I say your partefact looked like yesterday?

Great report and pics interesting fact about the cowboy hat, bit of a bad start as my headphones started playing up 1/2 hour into the rally. Dug a lot of iron as a result ( well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ) Nomad loaned me his spares ( thanks again Paul )
so it was game on after lunch when I got to add a lot more vet tubes to my collection  Grin , best I managed was a Vicky half penny in the end. Still finds are not all what its about ( although the odd hammie wouldn't come amiss ) it was great to catch up with old friends and make some new. Congrats to everyone on your finds, and here's looking forward to the next one.  Wink

Peter, I am in awe of your knowledge. You did indeed identify the spoon fragment as soon as you saw it.

I have attached a photo of a modern copy of this type above.

Well I had planned on going to this rally but circumstance dealt a blow the day after the Frampton 1 rally and having done a 80 hour seven day stint at work I have had to catch up on some sleep. Looks like another DW success Well done Rob, Geoff, Neil and all for a good day out. Favourite find for me is Napoleon,s silver thingy. Well done all.
