Hi grego.
I have converted my AT pro.
You need a COOLEAD portable stereo music transmitter. (Amazon £11.99)
You can then used Bluetooth headphones, I use Philips SMB7150 that I use with my iPad.
The only problem you have got is that the AT has a special lead and plug to make it waterproof, I cut mine half way down and fitted a jackplug, (Maplin).

It looks a good bit of kit but only six hours of battery life. Have you given up on the Deus Keith ?

I think it will work with any detector (Deus maybe not), It works with my Ace 250 and most detectors are fitted with the matching jackplug, so no cutting and soldering.
I have used mine for a full detecting day with the club and it has lasted 8 hours no problem. I carry a lead that can go from detector to headphones if the battery dies.
It comes with a USB lead that you can use in your car with an adapter.
If you are out for more that 8 hours, maybe it's not for you.

I think we've been down this road before. I changed mine with the Safari some time ago and got on with the set-up quite well. There is an almost imperceptible delay on the signal but it's entirely liveable with.  Here's what you need,

Bluetooth Earphones (remember they're not all rain proof)
     "          Transmitter
Stereo Jack plug adapter from 6.35 to 3.5 (and with mine a 45% bend)
Short length of strong adhesive Velcro

Here's what my set-up looks like.

p.s.  never did much more than 4 hours at a time but got 2 sessions before re-charging
p.p.s.  and always took Cheff Phones with me  just in case

I bought a pair for my Safari I used them once or twice and I couldn'tget on with them the signal seem to be slower so I'm back to my old headphones with cable lead I have to take both out for a test Undecided

Mark. I think a test would be a good idea, to try and prove or disprove the delay theory.
I have tried it with my AT and in all honesty cannot detect any delay.
Everything is happening at near the speed of light, electrons to the transmitter, radio waves to the headphone reciever, electrons to the headphone speakers. The only delay could be in the Bluetooth processing either end and this can only be a few microseconds.

ALL Bluetooth WILL have a delay as that comes with the technology and the way bt works however depending on which version of Bluetooth it is the delay may be so short to be almost imperceptible, one of the best ways to test it is to plug the transmitter in to a television and see if the sound and picture sync and if not then by how much Wink

Just in the 2 days i've been looking at this  there seems to be awkward attempts at this, with no one getting it quite right , i could be wrong but that's how it appears to me

A good quality kit with virtually no lag,  decent battery life and does nt add much weight to the machine would sell really well im sure

Don't bother with wireless most of the reasons to go that way can be solved quite easily?

With a longer lead on your headphone run the cable from phones to your waist (if you still have one) inside your top coat or jumper fix this point to either your belt or belt loop on your trousers with a Velcro strap, you can put a small box with a socket here.  The cable to detector now hangs down beside your leg, does not pull on the phones/head, when you put detector down you still have plenty of free cable to be able to move around. mine has rarely ever snagged even in woods and undergrowth. Easy to use comfortable and cheap.  Bob
