the first DW rally of 2010 is generating lots of anticipation and excitment, particularly among the newer members of the site..... Cheesy...i'd like to offer a little advice, without causing any offence....when you receive the PM off admin it will contain all the instructions ,including postal code , road directions , farm name etc.....please do not discuss this information on the open forum as there are unscrupulous people about who may use it to their advantage....and after the rally, when you post your finds and comments on the event, still do not name the farm or area as we may use the same farm for a future rally.... Wink...i hope this advice is taken in the manner i intended...thanks....byron

Well said Byron.

I'd actually like to take this oppurtunity in thanking ,Byron and Ray for reccying the last two farms with me last Wednesday getting a suitable farm for this rally has taken 7 visits to different farms.  The one we are going to be using is in a great area and although not a load came up on the day (How well 3 people can do 70 acres in 2 hours I dont know!)  I'm sure we'll all enjoy ourselves . It will be great to meet up with everyone again and meet the new forum members!

i totally agree Byron. excellent advice.

its so important that we do not identify the location on an open forum. it would be awful if the farm owner was then subjected to visits by nighthawks and oomther illegals.

enjoy the day, share the finds, but be careful. you never know who is reading the open forum.

c u all sunday [even though we had snow tonight, and a forecast of -5 to -8 saturday night!!]
cheers

Some sound advice there folks. What may be off interest to those attending tomorrow is the fact that we are right on top of a ploughed out Iron Age Fort and settlement and a possible unrecorded Roman Villa so I don,t know how you work on discriminating your Iron but it may be worth digging a few bits to see what comes up.
