Popped out for 2 hours this afternoon, up to the lost ring field. As I said not long ago it is now planted and the winter wheat is up and growing like a good un. So that has left me with just the very edges of the field, which I'm ashamed to say I haven't really done up to now, lured as I have been by the stubble, then ploughed, main area.
Well this field keeps giving, not much but just enough to keep me interested. I only managed half of one side, so I shall be back.

2 Roman Bronzes, the bottom and catch plate of a fibula, 3 buttons, a small length of silver (watch?) chain, a lead steel weight and a modern harness buckle. Oh and a piece of lead alloy with the swirling sun pattern.

Sods law Val, I've found 5 rings this year, 2 at rallies and 3 during normal detecting. But the one I know is there, I can't find. After all the Roman stuff that is coming out of this field I am sooooooooooo glad she lost it. lol

No it's not her field lol and the farmer is intrigued with all the history so unless he goes and buys himself a detector I think I'm pretty safe.
