Its a coin, its Saxon, and its beat up  :'(.....any idea guys. From my medieval field yesterday.

a quick look in spinks
 s 914 tribrach type coenwulf king of mercia 796-821
what a field if you need a hand i will travell from north wales lol
great find

Well that certainly adds to your fantastic year digging - is the moneyer Sigberht? - the tribach coinage is from around 800AD.....

Someone needs to do some serious archaeology in your field, these are some rare ancient, post classic and modern finds, it must have been a special place over the last few thousand years. Waw. Get the 'timeteam'  in they may find something, for a change.

I think you have found more this year, than Phil Harding and Timeteam did in 288 episodes.🤗🤗

That must have been after he re-captured the place then :) - glad I could make out the letters of the moneyer :)
