new user with quatteo but heres the problem,went out and had the sens only on 10 had a good signal reading 35 and showing half depth on readout,pinpointed spot dug about 12 inches and could not find target ,kept checking hole and saying was still there gave up in end stoped digging cause thought it cant be that deep on sensitivity only at 10 what is going on please help dug three holes the same ,,

the best thing to do with the good old quattro is to stick it in all metal and dig everything over -3

Don't worry too much about the depth gauge on the screen its only a guide and depends on the size of the target, using the Safari on 16 sens Iv dug coins at 14" + showing at between 34 & 38. I agree with romano-brit stick to all metal & dig anything above -3 then you wont leave any goodies behind, good luck and good hunting.  Wink

If you had continued to dig just a little bit more, you may have found a large piece of iron like a horseshoe and just before you uncovered it, the signal would have changed and shown -10 or another minus number.  This has happened to me a number of times.

Sometimes my pinpointing has been a bit off and the item was in fact in the sidewall at the nearest point of the hole to me only a few inches down.

Perhaps it may be worth going back again just to satisfy the curiosity.
