A very canny move to find work for the working man to do.  Just think how a new coin impacts day to day life. To name a few, Gas meters, parking meters, change machines. The list is endless.

Are the new Joey Pounds going to be highly corrosive like most of the currency we are turning out these days though?

Also I wonder how long the £1 amnesty will last for the current stock, as we'll still be finding them down Barry in 50 years time. ;D
