Is it silver - hard to tell from your pictures? Title: Re: coin for ID please Post by: paulpop on April 14, 2017, 06:26:59 PM yes peter it seems to be silver and i thought maybe edwared iv Drogheda Mint , which is a rare irish mint
Title: Re: coin for ID please Post by: probono on April 23, 2017, 10:32:37 PM It doesn't look like any of the Irish Pennies I have (or have owned) - firstly it's on a fully struck and full flan - you just don't get them like that - the mint signature is always the first casualty. Secondly, the style is wrong - unless you have enhanced the edge sharpness on your image - it looks wrong, and the lettering doesn't look right - it seems more like something - at best - non official - in fact it reminds me most of something that someone like Grunal the moneyer has made.
