My Deus was originally purchased in October 2013 and I bought it second hand about 7 months ago.
The handbook says you can update everything by downloading the Deus update programme into the computer then plugging a USB lead into the computer and the Deus control box and following instructions.
I aint that much of a computer guru but decided to try anyway and bought the micro usb cable from the local computer shop.
I followed all the instructions faithfully and it started downloading.
Trouble was, IT TOOK AGES, and didn't seem to be getting any where, which had me panicking that I had done something wrong and was damaging the control box.
Then I had to go out so left it to its own devices.
End result was that it worked beautifully and wasn't difficult. I would have liked to have been warned that it could take a while, so pass on that fact to anybody who might be looking to do the same.
Happy days (I hope)

Follow this video bearing in mind you can only update with the Microsoft system.

No. On mine it said that only handset initially. Earphones were turned off and I was well away from coil.

Hi Bill, when switching versions, all your Deus bits have to be updated at the same point in time, to prevent conflicting info from the coil to headset / coil to control box. As it stands your headphones will still be using the original v2.0 software , whilst your coil and control box will be using what you updated to (v3.2 Or whatever the latest is!). As I remember, once it has updated the control box, it asks you to unplug from the box and plug in any headphones etc. apologies if I'm way of the mark, but that's how I remember it when I had to do it last.

Just don't want you getting any issues when out in the field

Cheers

Ok
Exactly the same as mine. Watching Dougs link it is likely that because I wasn't near the coil when I was doing this, it would explain why it took so long to actually update the coil.
Another lesson learned.
Much easier using the u tube vid than just trying to follow the written word.
Nice one Doug

You will notice there is a 'drop 'down' menu in the video, this is for the V2 & V3 versions (V3.2 now) so you can go back to V2 but you can't go back to V3 or V3.1 so be warned!

V2 or V3, depends who you ask!

I still use V2 and for me I see no advantage, others will disagree big time.

There are 'added' adjustments within the menus and more pre-set programs also with V3.

............but wait, young Mr Dryland is our, or will be our forum Guru on all thing Deus............ Grin
