Title: Out in the field with CUT/HALF and HAMMERRHOID ( id please )
Post by: CUT/HALF on April 13, 2014, 06:38:35 PM
Today me ( CUT/HALF ) and HAMMERRHOID went out on our own permission. As it was a lovely day we got to field at 8am and were soon swinging our coils. Half the field was deep ploughed and the other was short stubble. We have been to this field many times and have had many different artefacts and coins from it. We started on the deep ploughed and HAMMERRHOID was soon on his knees, he had found a nice little buckle. Good start we thought. Every time I looked around HAMMERRHOID was on his knees, this time he had recovered a nice little button. At this time I was still stumbling through the deep ploughed with only a pouch full of lead to show for it. HAMMERRHOID was on his knees again and this time he had found a little decorated silver plaque ( id please ). As I was struggling a lot, I decided to head for the stubble, so I left HAMMERRHOID on his knees to search for another signal. Back to a level surface, I finally started finding and had a nice decorated button shortly followed by a watch winder . HAMMERRHOID had made his way to the field and showed me a nice little token he had found in the ploughed. I quickly found another button. We then went through another quiet spell, but when it ended I had a lovely little tudor button ( missing fastener ) and at the end of the day HAMMERRHOID had a Victoria penny. Shame no hammered came up today but we still had a good time, we did amass quit a bit of lead as well as the usual tat.
Identification on the finds we be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading
All the best
cheers
CUT/HALF and HAMMERRHOID

Well done you pair, that silver plaque is something special. Could it be off a buckle ?

Good selection there, looks like a very good site, give it some time and I bet you'll get some silver/gold from it.
