Wonderful to see Rob. Well done. It is amazing that the Neolithic pottery survives in the soil as it is so poorly made. I would treasure these finds Rob. Well done again.

Good spotting !! there Spooty  ::) lovely finds Rob found a piece of flint myself looked metallic first of all due to the grey colour ;)

NICE FINDS  ROB    I HAVE ONLY EVER FOUND ONE PIECE OF WORKED FLINT ,,,,,,, MAKES YOU THINK  WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON  TO OF USED IT  THO AHHH   ??? ??? ???

Fantastic Rob . Silly question here , how do you tell if its worked or knapped , theres no natural flint on my main farm though I've found one or two pieces that look` worked.

I have found a number of flint scatters over the years from mesolithic,neolithic and bronze age. These are small
fraction of what Ihave found.

i have found walking at tinten not far from the abbey a marble bust of madonna with child digga seen it when he came to mine theres a lot of pepole wants to buy it not for sale :) i will post a pic when my new camra comes its in my display cabinet this is one a bit like it

they said at the museum its made from reformed marble and it is 14cent medievil :)

Mesolithic flints are smaller better quality better worked. They usually conform to a size of about 3 or 4 centimetre size. Neolithic flints are rougher vary more in size and shape. Will post a picture up for you Digga to explain.

Here you are folks this is a good example of Flint tools and how they are formed in the Neolithic.

And these are Mesolithic tools. See how much neater, tidier, smaller and uniform they are.
