Got me an hour an a half in straight after work tonight and so glad I did! Had me second hammered for the year so far and its short cross! Any ideas on monarch, moneyer and mint please-can't work out short cross.
Also had another couple of bits-one looks like a bronze arrow head-Any ideas?
Cheers!
Ben.

Great finds Benny - well worth the half hour and more to come from that site I would say.

Well done on the Shortcross - The doc will give you the rest of the details I dare say - Moneyer, class, etc.

Congratulations on your 2nd hamster this year!

Great finds. The short cross is Henry III, Canterbury mint, moneyer Simon (SIMON ON CANT). I believe the class is 7a or thereabouts.

Not sure about the pointy bit, but the other artefact looks like part of a Saxon (11th century) stirrup-strap mount.

Benny being made of bronze I think the possible arrow head could be ceremonial rather than a every day item. I would tend to think of it being prehistoric burial goods (working theory). Is it broken at the opposite end to the point, does it appear to have been hollowed out (is it cast or worked bronze). any chance of some more photos please. Still very nice finds indeed good sir. Well done.
